It’s taken me 35 years to accept my face as it is. I always hated how my eyes look, and have worn fake lashes for as long as I can remember to try and mask their shape. But recently I’ve been trying this really radical thing called self-acceptance, and I’m kinda vibing with it 🫶🏽 This is also my face without any editing (aside from a BW filter) and without any filler or botox via my iPhone camera. Medspas (and most of society) would/should be screaming at me to do whatever I can to ward off any signs of aging. There’s nothing wrong with getting cosmetic work, but there’s also nothing wrong with going au naturale 🤍 Anyway, a reminder that we all have our own insecurities but we should be a little kinder to ourselves whenever possible ✨

I read a quote the other day that said you write your own eulogy by the way you live your life. I hope that how I live now will leave behind a legacy filled with hope, kindness, and love. A few weeks ago, I was out to dinner with my long time best friend (and who also dropped everything to do a quick trip to Boston with me this weekend) and she was talking about how someone once asked her what she was most proud of. Instead of listing her many accomplishments, she talked about how she’s most proud of herself for staying soft and kind despite what life has thrown at her. I thought about that a lot and realize it’s the same for me: I hope that I am living proof that you can go through hell and still choose love. (Me and my twin, me and my mom, me and my baby niece)
