Frequently Asked Questions

How many images will we receive?

For 30-45 minute sessions, I typically deliver at least 100 edited images! For weddings, I deliver 80-100 edited images per hour.

Do you travel for photoshoots/weddings?

YES! I love traveling. As of now, I mostly photograph in Maine, but can certainly come to wherever you are! I spent 7+ years traveling and photographing Asia. My passport is updated with many blank pages + ready to go! I'd love to talk more with you to determine pricing for travel!

What’s in your camera bag?

My main camera is a Nikon Z7II, and my backup camera is a Nikon Z5. I mainly shoot with a 35mm f1.8 lens, but also love shooting with my 24mm f1.4, 85mm 1.4, and for landscapes, my 16-35mm f4 lens!

How long until I receive my photos?

For portrait sessions, it can take me anywhere from 2-4 weeks to deliver your final edited imags to you. For weddings, it takes up to 8 weeks. I take great pride in going through each gallery fully and selecting only the best images to edit! I take great pride in hand-editing all images before they are uploaded and delivered to your gallery.

Do you use Lightroom or Photoshop?

YES!!! This is actually one of my favorite parts about photography. I use Lightroom and Photoshop for basic color and lighting correction, erasing background distractions, and cropping photos. I do not however deliver RAW images.

Are you comfortable with kids? What about pets?

YES! I was a nursery school teacher for 5 years, and I absolutely love kids! If you have a family pet (or several) that you want to include in your shoot, feel free to bring them along!

We're unsure of a good location, can you help?

Many of my clients have either just moved to Maine or are unfamiliar with photo locations. If you're unsure of where to have your photos or just want some ideas, feel free to ask and I'd be happy to recommend my favorite spots!

Where are your favorite spots to photograph?

Maine is absolutely beautiful and there are so many places to photograph at in Maine! In Portland, Maine, I love photographing at Two Lights State Park, Portland Head Light/Fort Williams, Willard Beach, Higgins Beach, Ferry Beach, Falmouth Audobon, and the Old Port right in downtown Portland! The Bar Harbor shore is also quite lovely to photograph at as well as Acadia National Park - Otter Point is my absolutely favorite spot, as well as Little Hunter’s Beach and Sand Beach. Of course, in central Maine, Viles Arboretum has beautiful fields and trails for photos as well. I also am constantly discovering new places in Maine!

What time of day is best to photograph?

My favorite time of day to photograph is during evening golden hour - which occurs about an hour before sunset! It gives dreamy golden colors to your photos! Photographing either during or right after sunrise also makes for great lighting - although that can be pretty early in the morning! If you’d prefer a photo session during the late morning or in the afternoon, just be aware that the sun is always the brightest and harshest at these times! In other words, the sun can cause harsh shadows on faces/bodies so we have to be creative in how we angle our bodies! Shooting during the day will also give a brighter and more airy feel to your photos whereas shooting during evening golden hour (my personal favorite) will give you a warmer vibe. It’s totally up to you and what you’d prefer!

How long have you been a photographer?

I've been photographing for 7+ years! I've been published several times in international magazines and even published my own photo book! I was also a fashion photographer for 3 years. My main focus now is portraiture + weddings.

Can we talk with you before booking?

Absolutely! I am always available for a Zoom or phone call if you’d like to further go over photo session details, ask questions about my packages, get to know me better, or anything else you would like to talk about!

What should we wear for photos?

I always recommend wearing muted, earth tone, or pastel colors! Although in person bright colors are beautiful, they can often be quite striking in photos and be distracting. Sometimes the bright colors can cause reflections on faces! If you want to wear something with a pattern, try to wear something with a simple patter (think plaid or gingham) otherwise, the patterns can be really distracting in photos. If photographing with other people, then try to complement one another! Heels also look great in person, but can be difficult to walk in and balance in when taking photos, so I’d recommend wearing flat shoes or shoes that you are comfortable being in for extended periods of time.

What if we need to rain check or cancel?

The weather can be super unpredictable - so I always advise clients to choose 2 dates when booking with me juuuust in case something happens. However, your 50% retainer is non-refundable should you choose to cancel.

What is your COVID-19 protocol?

I am fully vaccinated + boosted! I follow all mask mandates when in place. Most, if not all, places in Maine no longer require a mask and therefore I do not wear one, but if it would make you more comfortable, then please let me know so I can do so! I also typically do not wear masks when photographing outdoors (especially during the summer!) but again, if you’d be more comfortable with me wearing one still, please inform me! Your safety and comfort is important!

Do you photograph same-sex couples?

Yes, yes, YES! Love is love!

How can I book you?

Feel free to submit an inquiry using my Contact page or directly send me an E-mail. Be sure to include what type of photos you’re looking to have as well as any dates you have in mind! I’ll be sure to respond within 48 hours (usually less than 12 hours) to follow-up and confirm details. Once we have decided on a package, date, and location, I’ll send you a contract and an invoice where you can pay the 50% non-refundable retainer.
